The problem

Only one in three children in Indonesia finishes high school.

Many villages have no school within reach, no teacher who stays, and no clean water. Children spend hours each day walking to fetch it, and the classroom is the first thing to go.

What Waves of Change does

Schools, water, and an education that lasts.

Waves of Change works in some of the most under-served communities in Indonesia. It builds the school, brings water to the village, and then keeps the classroom running year after year.

Where the money goes

Four things, done properly.

  • Building schools

    Classrooms in villages that have never had one close enough to walk to.

  • Drilling wells

    In Flores, clean water lies hundreds of metres down, beneath solid stone. Reaching it changes a village for good.

  • Paying teachers

    Salaries that keep a qualified teacher at the front of the room every day.

  • Equipping classrooms

    Desks, books and materials, so that a building becomes a proper education.

The auction collection is exhibited at Hotel Tugu Bali from Wednesday 25 November, presented by our art curator. On the night, jewellery and fashion pieces are worn by models and shown on stage before the bidding opens.

Every level can be met in cash or in kind, except Nazaré, which is cash only, and Batu Bolong, which is in kind only. There is one Nazaré title sponsor. In-kind sponsorship is valued at retail price and counts at half the cash rate, because cash goes straight to the classroom.

Fashion & jewellery houses

Sponsor at Pipeline or above and your pieces take the stage.

International top models wear your pieces to the event and present them on stage. The pieces are then auctioned, funding further education and clean water in Flores. Pieces donated for auction count towards your in-kind sponsorship value.
